Chemical and Antioxidant Profile of Hydroalcoholic Extracts of Stachys Officinalis L., Stachys Palustris L., Stachys Sylvatica L. from Romania

Stachys officinalis L., palustris sylvatica L. (Lamiaceae) are widely used as herbal remedies. In this study, comparative assessment of the phenolic acids, flavonoids, anthocyanin, and tannins content, together with antioxidant activity extracts obtained from flowers, leaves stems was performed. Phenolic acids determined by HPLC method reached highest values in flower extract S. palustris, stem officinalis, leaf sylvatica. Flavonoids were found at exceeding 100 mg quercetin equivalents (QE)/g dry weights all three species, based on spectrophotometric method. Anthocyanins detectable only flowers. stood out for content anthocyanins tannins. Antioxidant present species studied, standing most intense ferric reducing power. The results lead to validation applicability these plants curative food purposes, given their variety richness bioactive compounds antioxidants.
